The Difference Between ‘Getting It Done’ And ‘Getting It Done Right’…

It’s one thing to tell people you know how to “take care of business”: making sure it really is taken care of — precisely, on-budget, and on-time — is a whole other matter completely. So what makes one company able to deliver the latter every time without fail?

Products of exceptional quality? Of course. Talent and creativity? Definitely. Seamless, highly-responsive client service? Without it, the first two may never realize their true potential. Premier Store Fixtures Portland Office Welcomes Its Latest Hire, Design Engineer Dragos Zamfirescu.

It began as a labor of love. In 1997, at the tender age of 22, Dragos Zamfirescu put enough money together to purchase a used Harley-Davidson motorcycle. “It needed a lot of work,” he recalls; “but that was fine with me. I had my own Harley!” Pretty impressive for a young man who was born in the U.S., grew up in Bucharest, Romania, and had returned to America just two years earlier.

As he predicted, the restoration involved a lot of hard work — “a long year’s worth” — but during the process something interesting happened: Dragos began designing parts for the cycle. “It was at this point I sought out a CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machine shop for help machining my parts. I found all the tools and computerized equipment fascinating, and was ‘hooked’.” Continue reading

He visualizes the ideal retail environment to boost sales and consumer satisfaction, then sees it become a reality. But ensuring a project’s successful outcome requires respect for the process. No short cuts. No unimportant details. Continue reading
