It’s no secret that it takes a great deal of effort and cooperation for an NFL team to reach the Super Bowl. When Nike wanted to coordinate an eye-catching, national product rollout of its new NFL team jerseys, footwear, and other gear for the 2012-13 Super Bowl, they teamed up with Premier Store Fixtures to ensure their success. It’s one thing to tell people you know how to “take care of business”: making sure it really is taken care of — precisely, on-budget, and on-time — is a whole other matter completely. So what makes one company able to deliver the latter every time without fail?
Products of exceptional quality? Of course. Talent and creativity? Definitely. Seamless, highly-responsive client service? Without it, the first two may never realize their true potential. Which is why Premier Store Fixtures places such importance — and so many resources — into maintaining Support and Logistics capabilities that are unsurpassed in the industry.
It’s been only 15 years or so since Vincent DiFatta left the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Industrial Design. But in this relatively brief span of time, he’s accumulated a wealth of experience working with some of the top firms and clients in the store fixtures industry, and traveled around the world.
Right out of the gate, Vincent demonstrated his tenacity and talents, going to work in 1997 for Plynetics Express as part of a business development team charged with developing innovative solutions to a myriad of client needs. Coordinating all facets of work from start to end, he helped generate two million dollars in annual sales. Continue reading
Every good fisherman — and fisherwoman — knows that if you want to attract more fish, you first have to get their attention. There’s a parallel in the world of retail marketing, which is why a great deal of time and expense go into the design, manufacture, and implementation of in-store environments.
So when Dick’s Sporting Goods wanted to create a new Tackle Department that would net ‘schools’ of customers, Premier Store Fixtures was the natural selection to help lure them in.
It began as a labor of love. In 1997, at the tender age of 22, Dragos Zamfirescu put enough money together to purchase a used Harley-Davidson motorcycle. “It needed a lot of work,” he recalls; “but that was fine with me. I had my own Harley!” Pretty impressive for a young man who was born in the U.S., grew up in Bucharest, Romania, and had returned to America just two years earlier.
As he predicted, the restoration involved a lot of hard work — “a long year’s worth” — but during the process something interesting happened: Dragos began designing parts for the cycle. “It was at this point I sought out a CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machine shop for help machining my parts. I found all the tools and computerized equipment fascinating, and was ‘hooked’.” Continue reading
A good lawyer loves the law. Quality athletes, whatever their paychecks, play for love of the game. As a design artist, Matt Comiskey, Director of Design at Premier Store Fixtures, loves the creative process. Every part of it.
Being Director of Design at Premier Store Fixtures allows Mr. Comiskey to work with some of the finest professionals in retail store design and production, on projects for a diverse range of regional and national clients like Nike, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Finish Line, and Canon, to name just a few. He visualizes the ideal retail environment to boost sales and consumer satisfaction, then sees it become a reality. But ensuring a project’s successful outcome requires respect for the process. No short cuts. No unimportant details. Continue reading
